A little about 2014

Hello! I hope 2015 is treating you well. I am excited to see what this new year will bring and have all kinds of fun projects in mind I can’t wait to tackle and share.
Here is a little round-up of my favorite projects in 2014.

I’ve always been a big fan of tents, teepees and forts. Who’s not, right? I think it is a right of every child to have an awesome cozy spot to retreat to at all times. It turned out a little more plain than I had imagined in my head. It was supposed to have fun appliques of flowers and windows on the sides, but when I stepped back and looked at it I decided I liked it just how it was. Babies (1 of 1)

Earlier this summer, I decided it was time to crack down and finally learn how to quilt. So, I did just that…

I am addicted now. I want to make every quilt out there. The kids love the quilts just as much as I do and are constantly pulling them out to snuggle with.

Growing up my mom always made all of our Halloween costumes. They were so unique and were passed down from one child to the other. Many of the costumes she made are still being played with by the grandchildren . So, I am following her example and have vowed to only hand make costumes.

And of course I couldn’t make their costumes and not make their treat bags. This was probably my favorite project all year. My oldest son, Liam, was so excited to have a “real cowboy” outfit and he still wears it multiple times a week.

Finally, I had so much fun this year preparing for Christmas. Maybe it was because my children are at an age where they get so excited and love to help prepare every step of the way.

Liam wrote quite a few letters to St. Nick, and our little elf “Harold” would deliver them to him at night. We were in major need of some sort of system for this, so I made a post box for these little letters to be mailed out in. Even Madeleine had fun finding any sort of paper scraps she could and sending them off to Santa.

Well, dear readers, that wraps up our 2014 all in one post. Whew! It was a wonderful year with lots of good memories. I hope you will join me this next year as I find my way around blog land and share our little treasures with you.

xoxo, Bridgette
